One of the materials that has been in use for siding for a very long time is aluminum. With more than 80 years of use, it has seen a lot of improvement over time, and it has a fairly long life span, which makes it an attractive choice for a homeowner. When you have other types of siding you have to worry about a lot of different types of damage, such as rot, mold, rust, bugs and woodpeckers, but with aluminum siding, these are not concerns. One problem that aluminum does have, however, is denting. Depending on how thin the panels are, it can pose more or less of a problem. Unfortunately, you also have to pay more for thicker aluminum.

When you do have a dented panel, a lot of work is involved in removing it and replacing it with a new panel, as well, and it is very difficult to do anything about dents without removing the panel.
