A rubber roof is a great alternative to traditional rolled roofing on flat/low-pitched roofs.

Typically these types of roofs are installed on a slope of 4/12 or less (most commonly seen on 2/12 or less). They are a fantastic roofing system that keeps the building relatively water tight. It also tends to last a long time with very little maintenance, and to be honest it is a pretty sharp looking roof. So what’s the down side?

Cost is one of them. It can cost quite a bit more than a rolled roof. Also, the installation of these roofs need to be near perfect – because if they aren’t they can develop leaks that are very difficult to correct.

When it comes down to it, if it is in the budget and the roofer installs it properly, a rubber roof is a fantastic roofing system that will serve you well for years to come.
